Updates on Center City Development Projects
Now Available Online

 

 

  • The number of under construction projects increased from 42 to 46; planned permitted and scheduled projects from 31 to 36; recently completed projects decreased from 11 projects in 2007 to 7 projects in 2008.
  • There are more total office projects in 2008 (18 projects) versus 2007 (14 projects). There is also one project under construction in a new category, Office / Residential.
  • There were fewer residential projects overall (43) in 2008 versus 2007 (46).
  • Total project costs increased by 17.9 percent between 2007 and 2008. The largest nominal increase was in the cost of completed projects ($285 million, or 25 percent more than in 2007). The largest percentage increase (85.4 percent) was in “planned, permitted and scheduled” projects.

 


According to findings from the DSA’s most recent Development Guide released in early July, the number of construction projects under development in Center City Seattle has remained relatively unchanged between the first quarter of 2007 and the same time period in 2008. However, the types and phases of this construction has seen some change year over year, specifically:
