Waterfront Signs Receive Updated Look

The freshly painted directional sign greets visitors to the Waterfront Neighborhood

After years of wear, directional signs guiding pedestrians to the Waterfront and Pike Place Market are getting a new look courtesy of the DSA’s Waterfront Marketing Committee and the Pike Place PDA. Construction on all of the new signs was completed at the end of July.

The new directional sign at the base of the Pike Place Hillclimb was painted by a group of local artists; Ira Coyne, Japhy Witte and Vince Ryland. DSA’s Waterfront Neighborhood Marketing Committee and the Pike Place Market PDA sponsored the installation.

The Western Avenue at Union Street signs directing passers-by to either the Waterfront or the West Edge neighborhoods are also being renovated by efforts from DSA’s Waterfront Neighborhood Marketing Committee. The signs were painted by Catherine Kent with installation assistance from Reid Signs.
